Is your house a killer...?
Don’t learn this the
hard way ~ test your home before you sell..!
Second only to smoking, radon is the leading cause of deaths by lung
cancer in the United States. According to the Environmental
Protection Agency, the occupants in your home are 7 times more
likely to die from radon caused lung cancer than from a fire. Yet the average household will
invest hundreds of dollars on smoke detectors and CO2 detectors,
while spending literally
nothing on measuring their home’s radon levels.
The EPA recommends
that all homes be periodically checked for radon levels.

What if my home fails…?
Homes do not pass or fail radon testing. The results are reported in
levels of radiation or they are reported as inconclusive. If the
results are inconclusive, you will receive another test or a full
refund at the discretion of the home inspector. If the test
exceeds the 4 pCi/L recommended level for considering risk
remediation, SiteTech will suggest that you seek a professional to
assist you in determining the most practical radon mitigation
solution for your home.
How intrusive is the test..?
The test is not intrusive at all. The SiteTech Inspector will
install a radon test canister in an appropriate location on the
lowest, utilized, level of your home. This is most often the
basement. The area and canister must remain
undisturbed for 48-72 hours. After which SiteTech will retrieve the test
sample and process it through the radon test laboratory for the
results.
Results are typically available with 5 work days (includes sending
in the sample). Upon receipt, the inspector will contact you, review the results
of the analysis and provide you with a copy of the lab report.
How
do I schedule the test..?
That’s even easier…
